  • Ensuring RPS compliance in unlicensed medication supply

    When it comes to ordering unlicensed medication, it‘s critical to the patient that the medication supplied meets their specific needs. The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) updated its guidance earlier this year and to ensure we and our customers adhere to the guidelines, when ordering an unlicensed product, our customer service team will always confirm the order taken to minimise the risk of errors.

    For patients who are on narrow therapeutic index medications, guidance advises that they are maintained on the same brand of medication to manage their condition and support positive clinical outcomes. Acting in response to the MHRA advice, we have implemented a series of safeguarding prompts, which trigger at the point of order for specific medications.

    Quantum Pharmaceutical returned to the Sanofi jobs fair at its Fawdon Manufacturing Centre this month, as part of its ongoing quest to recruit the best and brightest from the pharma industry.Back in 2012, Sanofi announced it would cease production at Fawdon by the middle of 2015, with a phased redundancy process in place for almost 250 employees.

    The staff at Quantum Pharmaceutical swapped their shirts, ties and lab coats for red noses and fancy dress in an effort to raise funds for this year's Red Nose Day appeal. Quantum Pharmaceutical employs 245 people from all divisions at its Burnopfield headquarters and many of them showed their support by turning up to work in their favourite fancy dress costumes and donning iconic red noses to "do something funny for money".
